General info regarding "Joie de Vivre" live content editing
Each page of editable content offers similar controls. Text may be styled as bold, italic, underline or any combination of the three. You may create a new record or edit or delete any existing one. Certain fields (such as 'address' or 'contact'), relevant to each record, only appear if content exists for them. If you wish to add content to an otherwise empty field, click "show all fields". This will expose all relevant fields and allow you to enter data into them. Clicking it again will cause any of those fields that were not filled in to become invisible again. Any time changes are made or a record is added or remove you will be prompted to make the same changes in other language - if cancelled, the changes will not be applied. To refresh the form and start changes from scratch, hit the browser's "refresh" button.

Because of the nature of forms it is recommended that navigating around in the editing environment be done through the use of buttons and links as opposed to "back" & "forward".

Editable Areas
All editable text appears in red.

Text Selection & Styles
To enter a text block to begin editing, left click either on the line (in the case of a new entry) or within the text itself. To move the cursor around use the arrow keys. Specific notes for each editable page

How to add/edit/remove a link
Changes may be submitted for each link individually. Likewise, each may be deleted individually. To add a new entry, click "add new". Once edited , click "submit changes". You will be prompted to edit the english version at this point and will be taken to the full list of links. Navigate through to find the entry you wish to edit in english, do so and hit "submit changes" to return to the french (even if no changes were done to the english)..

How to add/edit/remove a site
1) Start by navigating to the town or sector that either hosts the site that you wish to edit or where you wish a new site to be located.

2) If you want to affect an existing site that appears on that list, select it and move to step 3) If you wish to add a site to this townb or sector, select "add new site" and move to step 4).

3) You would now have a profile for an existing sitein front of you. You may now either edit or remove the site. See notes on those activities in this document as well as the section on uploading images for the photo gallery.

4) You would now have a fresh site profile in front of you. You should select "show all fields" and start entering data. You will be prompted to select its "site type" from a pull-down menu at the bottom. It necessary to select one before you may submit the site. See notes on those activities in this document as well as the section on uploading images for the photo gallery.

NOTES: When placing a site in a sector (St. Boniface, St. Vital or St. Norbert) you will be prompted to select it's location on the map. Simply scroll the map around until the desired location is visible and click on that location. This is only done once for both english & french and will not be saved until the changes are submitted.

When placing a site in a town, no map location is necessary as the town has already be given a location.

How to add/edit/remove an event
Changes may be submitted for each event individually. Likewise, each may be deleted individually. To add a new entry, click "add new". Once edited, click "submit changes". You will be prompted to edit the english version at this point and will be taken to the full list of events. Navigate through to find the entry you wish to edit in english, do so and hit "submit changes" to return to the french (even if no changes were done to the english)..

NOTES: Events appear in order by date. Often, however, the "date" is a description - such as "mid-february". Since "mid-february" is not a number it is not possible to sort by date using this information. The "Date:" that is visible to the left of the new event is the description (eg. "mid-february") but at the bottom of the page is an opportunity to give a specific date to the new event. Since that specific date does not appear anywhere, it acts only to appoint where the event lies in the list. If you have a specific date, you are free to enter it in both areas.

How to add/edit/remove a package
Changes may be submitted for each package individually. Likewise, each may be deleted individually. To add a new entry, click "add new". Once edited, click "submit changes". You will be prompted to edit the english version at this point and will be taken to the full list of packages. Navigate through to find the entry you wish to edit in english, do so and hit "submit changes" to return to the french (even if no changes were done to the english)..

How to populate the photo galleries
All sites and towns/sectors can have pictures associated with them. If only one picture exists it will appear as a thumbnail to the left of the body copy. If more than one picture exist, the picture that is alphabetically first will appear as the thumbnail and a link will appear below it to the gallery hosting all the images associated with that site or town/sector.

Renaming you're jpeg "aaaa.jpg" will likely force it to the front of the list alphabetically hence making it the one that is featured.

To upload a picture, see the editing box at the bottom of the page, click "browse" to select the image from its location on your computer then click "upload". This environment does not allow for the removal of images once uploaded. To remove images, please call us at Appeal Graphics (989-5250).
